Arlington Heights scored 4 in the first and never looked back as it won the state championship in a game shortened to 7 innings due to the 10 run rule.  Tim Scanlon went 4 for 4 with 4 rbi's, Scott Winters was 2 for 5 with 4 rbi's, & Matt Serna had 4 hits and 2 rbi's for Arlington Heights.  Caleb Rangel went 4 for 4 for Rock Island.

Arlington Heights rallied from a 7-1 deficit in the 5th and a 2 run deficit in the 10th to hand Rock Island its first loss of the tournament.  Tim Churchill singled home the winning run with 2 out in the 10th, his 3rd hit and 3rd rbi of the game.  Jason Ganek was 3-5 with a homer and 4 rbi's.  Noah Wethington of Rock Island was 5 for 5 with 4 rbi's.

Arlington Heights trailed 6-3 entering the bottom of the 6th, but scored 4 runs in the 6th, plus single runs in the 7th and 8th to extend its season.  Matt Lorenz got the win in relief, holding Danville to 2 hits over 3 and 2/3 innings.  Jason Ganek and Matt Serna each drove in 2 runs for Arlington Heights.  David Worthington had 3 hits for Danville.

Rock Island advanced to the championship game by pounding out 16 hits.  Josh Gibbs led the way, going 3 for 6 with 2 rbi's as the top 5 batters in the Rock Island lineup had at least 2 hits each.  Rod Mueth had 2 hits & 2 rbi's for Belleville, which left 15 runners on base and was eliminated from the tournament.

Scott Winters of Arlington Heights allowed only 2 infield hits in 8 and 1/3 innings of work to get the win.  Trace Ruffie entered in the 9th with two men on, and retired the last 2 batters for a save.  Jordan Ask had both hits for St. Charles, which was eliminated from the tournament.

Belleville rallied for 2 runs in the 7th & 2 more in the 8th to stay alive in the tournament.  Mitch Matecki & Marcus Hustedde each had 3 hits for Belleville & Hustedde drove in the go ahead run in the 7th.  Jonathan Schweppe went the distance with 8 strikeouts.

Arlington Heights stayed alive behind the strong pitching of Kyle Gaedele, who allowed only 2 hits in 7 innings.  Matt Serna had 3 hits and 3 rbi's while Tim Scanlon had 3 hits and 2 rbi's.  Mattoon became the first team to be eliminated from the tournament.
